What we can do for you

You may know the difference between someone who just affirms what you say and someone who has objective input into your life. The difference is crucial. As some have said, the most expensive advice is free. You need an objective advisor. Someone licensed and trained to help you find solutions to the roadblocks and obstructions on your way to being where you need to be financially.

We follow our practice much like a good doctor would. We take the time to listen to you, we want to know what’s important to you, what concerns you, and the kinds of things that are stopping you from reaching the financial goals that you have for you and your family. We then take that information, we analyze it, and we see if there isn’t anything that we can diagnose, anything that we can pinpoint that’s going to help you relieve that concern. If we cannot don’t see any red flags or find any issues of concern, we’re going to make sure that you know that, so that you can move forward with peace of mind, and know that you are as healthy financially as you can be. Or, if we’ve identified something, we’re going to recommend a treatment for it to facilitate a full recovery so you can feel better. It’s really that simple.

At the heart of what we do, is our desire is to add value, and be a dependable team that you can rely on.

More specifically, our services are divided into two different segments (click to view):

1. Financial Planning and Investment Advice:

(problem)

It has been said that the most violent element in society is ignorance. Is ignorance really bliss? It can be bliss- if there is nothing of substance that we need to be aware of. But, what we have come to see is that ignorance, and especially lack of proper preparation in the financial world can have heavy repercussions. A 2004 Retirement Readiness Survey from a large investment firm suggested that up to two thirds of Americans have no plan for “paying themselves” and lastly, do not even know what their monthly budget should be in retirement. That is just one of the many small details that makes up a strong financial plan.

Having a solid financial plan in place now, is more important than ever. In these days of financial turbulence, economic unrest and increased volatility, you need to have a plan. You need to have a plan that works, now, and in the long-term.

The things that are stopping you or slowing you down may seem to be larger than they really are. And sometimes you need to have someone trained to spot these obstacles to look at your specific situation from the outside in. There may be other ways to conquer these issues that you have, that have not seemed to have a simple solution for.

You have concerns, you have dreams and goals. You need to find long-term solution and alleviation to these concerns, to allow you to move forward with a strong stride in the world of finance. This is why we offer these critical services.

(solution)

So what’s your solution? How do you begin this process of getting a financial plan in place- and find the proper investments that suit your unique and personal situation?

What we do in the way of financial planning is really very simple. Getting from where you are currently at to where you want to be, is not without it’s complexities, namely, the obstacles in your way. That’s why we believe that the core of building your financial plan is all about pinpointing and specifying the financial roadblocks in your way, and finding long-term solutions that resolve them.

A substantial portion of what we will do is listen. We want to hear about these financial issues that are keeping you awake at night. We want to know what a perfect day in retirement would look like to you. We want to know what changes you anticipate in the next 3-5 years that could impact your finances.

We have processes that we will go through together, and ultimately, as we begin to see what needs to be done, what changes need to be made, or what needs to stay the same, you make the decisions.

We want to equip you with the tools you need to thrive in an age of financial turbulence.

(what makes us different)

What distinguishes us from many other investment firms is that we have purposely chosen not to limit ourselves to merely 5-6 packaged products. We believe that investing is a plan. Not a product. So why limit your plan to the types of redundant products that most investment firms confine you to?

(simplicity)

We have designed our financial plan programs to be simple on your part. Although complex and intricate on our side, you will be able to blueprint and execute your very own plan with ease. The advantage to yourself is immense.

2. Creation of Self-Directed IRAs:

We use vehicles all the time. We use cars to get us to our workplaces, planes to get us to Hawaii- even bicycles to circle the park on a cool evening. Interestingly enough, the investments available to us are referred to as investment vehicles. Simply, because a vehicle is what we use to get us from point A to point B. In the world of investment and finance, you will go where your vehicle is designed to take you, so limiting your selection of investment vehicles- is in essence, limiting where you can go.

In the same way that we use cars for traveling land, jets for crossing continents- to some extent, we all use investment vehicles to take us financially from where we are to where we need to go.

Only a meager 2% of all American investors are aware of the fact that you can invest in assets other than stocks, bonds, and mutual funds for your retirement. Joining this elite group of investors is amazingly simple.

(problem)

When you hear someone say their portfolio is diversified, many times what they mean is that they are diversified within an asset class. That is to say, they may have their assets allocated to many different stocks- but they are still tied into the stock market. Or, they may be diversified within debt instruments, but the majority of their investments will still be affected by interest rates. If that is the extent of your diversification, you are heavily subject to a risk, called systemic or market risk. This risk cannot be diversified away if you stay within a certain asset class; your investments will still move in tandem with the market you are in. In layman’s terms, “when the tide goes, all the boats go down.” Meaning, no matter how many boats you have, when the tide goes down, all your boats, five or fifty, will too.

What if you could find an investment rental property that would give you income every month? An undervalued parcel that your real estate expert sees a high potential for capital gain? Or, if you would like to buy bars of silver, gold or platinum? What if you wanted to buy antique cars? What if you have these opportunities and more, but don’t have an avenue to use your IRA funds to purchase these assets?

(solution)

With a Self-Directed IRA you can. It’s your answer to those opportunities. What your Self-Directed IRA will allow you to do is to purchase and sell assets easily, just like you’ve purchased and sold stock or bonds in your Traditional, SEP, SIMPLE, ROTH IRA, 401(k) or 403(b). As it’s name suggests, you are able to control exactly what you want to purchase with your IRA funds.

Since the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) was passed in 1974, signed in by President Ford, the big lobbyists for IRA’s were banks and investment firms, since then there has been a common misconception that IRA’s are only allowed to be invested in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities and CD’s. But that is far from true. The investment vehicles legally and liberally available are tremendous and plenteous.

Having a Self-Directed IRA allows you to truly diversify. That means that you will have more working for you than simply boats tied at the same dock. You are also able to have investments that are not affected, or even thrive when the tide goes.

Are you an ardent real estate investor? Maybe your obsession is in buying foreclosures? Or international properties. Or businesses. Maybe your passion is cars. Who knows the possibilities.

Some insightful questions may be:

  1. Do you feel safer and more comfortable investing in real estate or cars (tangible assets) or stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, or CDs (intangible assets)? (Keep in mind that most of the time, you can have direct control and involvement in increasing the value of a tangible asset. Whereas, in the case of owning an intangible asset, that is virtually impossible the majority of the time.)
  2. Do you plan on purchasing more tangible or intangible assets within the next 3-5 years?
  3. Do you see yourself as truly diversified, or merely diversified within an asset class?

Taking control of your investments through having your own Self-Directed IRA will most likely prove to be an inspiring journey. Having your own Self-Directed IRA, you are no longer restricted to invest only in mutual funds, stocks or bonds. Fresh worlds of investment opportunities are waiting to be discovered.

You wouldn’t take a car to cross the blue ocean or a ship to cross land. Investment vehicles are no different. You have great dreams; don’t let your IRA get in the way.
